Face Yourself releases new “Sideration” single and music video, announces signing with Sumerian Records

After listening to Face Yourself’s newly released single, “Sideration,” I thought to myself, “What did I just hear?” I was so intrigued that I took a deep breath, let out the air, and sat in awestruck silence.

The only logical next step was to immediately watch the song’s accompanying music video, which confirmed my initial reaction with scenes of struggle and panic depicting the story. The visuals clearly enhance the powerful emotions of the lyrics.

“Sideration” is Heavy (with a capital “H”) with stimulating sound, and Yasmine’s intense guttural vocals get the blood pumping just to keep up with their intensity. The lyrics describe feeling trapped and alone and being paralyzed with despair, with the walls closing in, and then overcoming the darkness and frustration with resiliency to defeat those feelings.

Near the end of the song, the aggressive pace goes from jaw-dropping fierceness to a brief moment of a choral sound with a strong but slower drum beat, providing a few seconds of reflection, only to be followed by an exclamation of realization.

The final phrase of the single is, “Good stuff. Okay, that’s all I have for now.” But it’s more than “good stuff.” It leaves the listener eager for more!

“Sideration” is available on all platforms and the music video is available on Sumerian’s YouTube channel.

Face Yourself consists of Yasmine Liverneaux (Vocals), Eric DiCarlo (Drums), Thomas Cardone (Guitar), Corey Doremus (Guitar and Backing Vocals), Dave Ricco (Lead Guitar), and Kyle Muenzner (Bass and Backing Vocals).
