Hot Milk Release New Politically Charged Single 'Insubordinate Ingerland'

Hot Milk are back with another forceful and thoughtful offering - ‘Insubordinate Ingerland’. Coming ahead of their new album ‘Corporation P.O.P’ out on 27th June this year, this single unleashes their frustrations in a nearly blistering four minutes of riffy guitar and politically charged lyrics.

Opening with a nod to their hometown, Manchester, this track wastes no time at drawing you in with a dystopian feel and bursting riff. The combination of instrumentals and vocals instantly have a nostalgic feel of 2000’s rock.

The chorus carries a catchy nature, voicing fears about the future powerfully. Rhythmic guitar continues to drive the song throughout whilst the band combine their own vocals as well as gang vocals adding emphasis and depth to the track.

My favourite part comes at the bridge where the instrumental drops out for a moody bass riff and vocals take on a rap style gripping you further. This morphs into a harder hitting riff and crashing cymbals where distortion and heavy vocals are all combined for maximum effect.

‘Insubordinate Ingerland’ is a brash discussion on the state of the nation accompanied by a music video filmed in their hometown, incorporating punk imagery and a collection of England flags only adding to the tongue in cheek lyrics.

‘Insubordinate Ingerland’ encapsulates the upcoming album's political tone and is a compelling social commentary. This single highlights Hot Milks evolution showing that overtime the band have truly found their sound, they clearly know what works. ‘Insubordinate Ingerland’ is proof Hot Milk are only progressing, I’m looking forward to hearing even more talent from the band.
