While She Sleeps return to the H.O.B. in Orlando

A year after the release of their latest album, “Self Hell,” British metalcore giants, While She Sleeps, with support from Bury Tomorrow and Vended, stopped in at the House of Blues, Orlando FL as one of their last dates on their U.S. headline tour.
Starting the night was the only band that wasn’t from across the pond, known prominently for featuring son of Corey Taylor from Slipknot as vocalist as well as son of Shawn Crahan, also from Slipknot, as the bands drummer, Vended. Being that Corey’s son, Griffin Taylor, fronts the band, you can really hear his father in their music. Their songs remind me a lot of Slipknot which I would imagine would be the bands biggest inspiration having such a close relationship. This is the second time I’ve been able to catch Vended live and both times I have seen them they have sounded phenomenal and put on a very entertaining set. They got the crowd moving and set the tone for a great night.

Following Vended’s beautifully chaotic set was a band that I’ve been told is very fun live and doesn’t come around to Florida very often, British metalcore act Bury Tomorrow. Featuring six band members there was always something happening on stage, they were very energetic from the first note played and at times had me turning my head and saying “woah.” A band I could compare them to live would be, in my opinion one of the greatest live bands out there, The Devil Wears Prada because of how many people are on stage and how much is going on. On top of putting on a very energetic set they sounded incredible and going into their set blind I definitely left a fan.

To close out the night was a set I’ve wanted to see since Welcome To Rockville last year when I was able to catch While She Sleeps. Since then, I've longed for a headline tour for a full year because of how incredible they were. Playing a mixture of their discography old and new on their headline tour, they sounded amazing and put on an energetic and memorable set. Vocalist Loz Taylor was running around the stage for the entirety of the set and sounded even better in the House of Blues than when I caught them in the infield of Daytona International Speedway. While She Sleeps guitar player Mat Welsh had to back out of the tour to welcome his new child and be with his newborn, so fellow British metalcore giant Architects guitarist, Ryan Burnett, joined the band to cover for Mat on this tour. Overall, While She Sleeps put on a highly energetic set that sounded incredible and had me singing, yelling, and even on the verge of tears during “To The Flowers." I can’t wait to see what the band does next and I’ll be jumping at the opportunity to be able to see them again.
